Pricing Considerations
Lindal Cedar Homes

Land
Lot Price
Ideally, this is the first place to start when considering building a new custom home and establishing a budget. However, it is not an absolute requirement to do so. Before purchasing your land, there are five areas of key concerns to research: 1) Legal Status; 2) Zoning Laws; 3) Liens on the Property; 4) Buildability; and 5) Other Constraints.

Custom Builder
Build Price
Your custom home builder should work closely with you to design the finish-out plans & pricing for your new Lindal Cedar Home. Some key considerations include: build-site topography, local codes and permit fees, electrical & HVAC, the cost of labor & materials in your area of Texas, foundation work, interior finishing like cabinetry, floor coverings, fixtures, and the type of roofing materials desired like traditional shingle tiles, metal roofing and/or solar panels.
Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions. I get it. We also have answers.
-
Can I make additions to my Lindal home after it's built?
Absolutely! It is best to work with Lindal for your addition, as we are familiar with your home and its post and beam structure. Your Lindal dealer will be able to make sure your addition blends with the original structure and architectural design.
-
Does Lindal provide details including HVAC and electrical on its drawings?
Yes, but only to the stub-out areas of your home. Because of variations in local building codes, you should take your completed Lindal plans to your builder or general contractor to assist you with the balance of the details.
-
Does Lindal provide foundation drawings?
We provide foundation drawings that outline the walls and locate point loads. For an additional fee, we can also size the pads and footings with an engineered foundation, if required. However, additional information on your building site, such as topography and soil conditions, would be required.
-
Once I order my Lindal, how long does it take to deliver the package materials to my build site?
Once you approve the final drawings and sign the authorization to ship (ATS) paperwork, we usually ship your home within four to five weeks. The development of the plans depends on many factors including the style and complexity of the home and the engineering requirements of the site. Consult your local dealer for real-time estimates based on those factors and today’s production process.
-
Is there a construction manual or guide?
Prior to delivery, you will receive a very detailed new home construction guide & detailed construction drawings to share with your general contractor. Each part of your package is also numbered to match the guide and make the building job more efficient. Lindal does not sell a “wood pile,” but rather a detailed plan that keys all the part numbered pieces into place.
-
Does it take longer to build a Lindal post-and-beam home than a conventional stick built home?
The Lindal post and beam home takes about the same amount of time for a builder to complete as a custom conventional home. Although, more care is typically required due to the vaulted cathedral ceilings.
